The Story of Infinity Farm's Pony

Exactly one year ago (March, 2008), I received a phone call from a woman looking to board an aged pony.  She had owned the pony for 18 years, keeping her in her backyard with a gelding.  When the gelding passed on, she gave the pony away to a family with children so that she wouldn't be lonely.

Almost two years went by and she received a call that the family could no longer keep the pony.  When I went to pick up the pony, this is what we found:

She arrived malnourished with blanket rubs on her shoulders and sores all over her body.  Despite this, the pony became a barn favorite due to her resiliency and sassy attitude.  Soon she could be seen trotting, cantering, and even bucking with her (much larger) pasture mates!  Her formal name is Sonya, but her barn name quickly became "Munchie", short for Munchkin.  The dentist declared that her age hovers somewhere around 30, and she has the five teeth to prove it!  With proper nutrition, care and love, she soon began to flourish (pics taken March, 2009):

However, this spring her owner decided to give her away again to another family.  Concerned that she may end up in a condition similar to that in which she arrived, the boarders here at Infinity Farm, in conjunction with my parents, agreed to sponsor the "midget horse" as she lives out her days peacefully.

...And they all lived happily ever after.  The End. ☺
